I joined Active Claremont to get more involved in my local community, to get out and meet more of my Claremont neighbors and because a dear friend’s mom told me too. And boy, am I glad I did!

Active Claremont is probably one of the best bargins around and I love a good bargin. For your $5 basic membership or your $10 family membership you receive their informative monthly newsletter, get the opportunity to participate in community based volunteer projects like Adopt-A-Highway along Baseline Road, The Claremont Library Friends of thr Library and the annual Pilgrim Place Festival. You also get to attend the monthly meetings and the social events. Such a deal!

Active Claremont was begun almost 13 years ago and is still going strong. According to their mission statement to: “To advocate communication and understanding between Claremont citizens and their local government, to promoted public awareness of and interest in local issues, and to encourage a spirit of volunteerism in the Claremont community.”

Each monthly meeting brings Active Claremont members together with civic leaders, local organizations and other community movers and shakers to enrich, inform and educate.

Active Claremont has members designated to regularly attend, observe and report on local council, committee and commission meetings and to bring that information back to the membership helping ensure that everyone is better informed.

Active Claremont really is the deal of the day.

For more information about Active Claremont or to join, just come to a meeting and speak with Darleene Rota who is in charge of membership.

Active Claremont meets on the third Thursday of every month except in August and December, at 7 PM in the Claremont Public Library Community Room. 208 Harvard Avenue, Claremont, CA 91711.

I’ll see you there!

Take care, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!
