Welcome To Claremont, Now Come Home…
By Tisza Major-Posner | April 20, 2007
Claremont is a small community, but it is about to get a whole lot bigger! Over the next two years there is going to be a bit of a new housing boom here in my fair city. More than 300 brand new housing options including lofts, condos and town homes are slated to be added to the community.
These projects include a 45 town house complex on the Southwest corner of Monte Vista Avenue and Base Line Road (currently going through the planning process and slated to be completed by early 2009) to the 173 unit Village Walk town homes located just west of the Claremont Village and only steps from the Metrolink station. And with 145 of the Village Walk units already sold, it looks like this development is a winner.
Another exciting and ambitious development, or should I say re-development is the Old School House/Claremont Inn Revitalization, located at the corner of Indian Hill and Foothill Boulevard. This mixed-use development will combine 90 townhomes, 30 lofts, the newly renovated Claremont Doubletree Inn and additional commercial businesses.
All this growth will give more people the opportunity to become part of the unique tapestry that is Claremont.
If you have any questions, or would like more information about the upcoming developments, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Nice post, however I read that article in the Claremont Courier 2 or 3 weeks ago. Normally when bloggers point out information previously printed by other media, they offer a link to the original story and add some personal insight, rather than try to claim it as their own. This story was written by Tony Krickl on April 7, 2007.

Hi Karen,
I am pleased to see that you not only read my blog, but also read the Claremont Courier.
You are quite right, when an article was written by someone else then you should credit the author and source the material.
I read Tony’s article and I also live about four blocks from where most of the construction is underway, and have for the last six years. I have watched the Village Walk project go from proposal to groundbreaking and beyond.
I also researched the information myself (probably using the same public record information as Tony did) and then I wrote my article for my blog.
So, although Tony and I both chose to discuss the new housing due to be debuting here in my community over the next few years, and I just realized that we both used the word “boom”, because in a community the size of Claremont, with so little property not already developed or designated as open space a boom is what it is, the articles are, in fact not the same and this one, is not his, but mine.
That’s the funny thing about facts. No matter who cites them, they tend to come out sounding the same and if they don’t, then they are termed fiction.
As a licensed Realtor based here in the City of Claremont, I pay considerable attention to everything that affects home ownership, whether it is new construction or a recent vintage home sale.
Thank you again for your interest in my blog and for your interest in the community. Both are valued and appreciated.
Take care, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!
